TeacherStep is a brand of South Carolina Educational Communications (SCEC), a 501 (c)(3) non-profit founded in 1982 that supports South Carolina ETV. All proceeds (money) received from the sales of the Teacherstep courses goes directly to The ETV Endowment in support of Public Educational Broadcasting mission. The ETV Endowment has received a four-out-of-four star rating for financial health and commitment to accountability and transparency by Charity Navigator for ten years in a row. Our courses may be taken from anywhere and at anytime during a 9-month completion time frame, providing a superior level of flexibility to fit the numerous time demands teachers experience. Our courses are intended for certified teachers who are seeking re-certification, career and salary progression, professional development, and teaching advancement. Through a dedicated team of professionals and professors, TeacherStep stands ready to assist teachers in fulfilling their professional and educational needs. Teachers in all 50 states and at overseas schools have successfully completed these courses.

CONVERSE UNIVERSITY Earn graduate-level credit from an accredited university. TeacherStep courses are offered in partnership with Converse University. Converse University has provided students with education rooted in the liberal arts since 1889 and is located in Spartanburg, SC. Upon successful completion of the courses, students may request an official transcript from the Converse Registrar’s Office. (“SCEC”) operates TeacherStep and manages the courses in partnership with Converse College.SCEC is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that was founded in 1982 and is located in Spartanburg, SC. Its mission is to support and promote South Carolina educational public broadcasting activities including the development and use of all communications media for educational purposes and for support of the performing arts. SCEC’s activities are overseen by a self-perpetuating Board of Directors. SCEC has operated distance education courses for almost two decades.
